Ten more counties in North Carolina officially switched from paper to electronic filing this week as Enterprise Justice (Odyssey) continues its rollout of the state’s cloud-hosted digital case management system, bringing access to a total of 27 counties and nearly half of the state’s population.
As more and more counties come online, litigation has been waged against county sheriffs, court administrators, and the software programmer in a class action lawsuit filed in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of North Carolina in May 2023. In their lawsuit, the plaintiffs claimed they experienced arrest or detention issues due to software defects.
